Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I can benefit from working with a dietitian?First, let’s discuss the difference between a dietitian, a nutritionist, and a health coach. Although certification programs exist, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist or a health coach. That does not mean they cannot make a significant impact on your health, it simply means there is no standardized education, rigorous testing, certification, licensure by the state, or continuing education requirements. A registered dietitian has at minimum an undergraduate degree, and a postgraduate internship, has passed a national examination, maintains state licensure (for TX), and has mandatory continuing education hours. Only dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy.

What can I expect us to work on together? You can expect me to take my time, maintain HIPAA standards of privacy and confidentiality, assess your health status, review any prior lab work, and provide you with a personalized protocol. You will be given access to a patient portal and electronic medical record; and full transparency will be provided regarding all lab work, notes, and recommendations.
-
Do you provide the materials needed for our sessions?Yes, I will provide you with any combination of the following: meal plans, educational hand-outs, videos, recipes, lab orders, supplement recommendations, menus, cooking demos, meditation, and/or yoga sessions!
-
How many sessions will I need? This all depends on you and your goals. I find that most clients need between 4 or more to see results. That said, Big goals deserve Big programs - and working with my group program is a little longer.
-
What is your cancellation policy? You can cancel at any time. Just let me know during our session or through email, and you are on your way. No questions asked.

How far in advance do I need to book?It is rare for me to have availability with less than 7 days' notice. Earlier is always better.
